Lighting: Croton plants prefer full sun, so it is ideal for a patio, near a window, in a bright room. The more sunlight, the more colorful the leaves will be. If the leaves turn green, it needs more light. They need lots of sun exposure in order to thrive. 

Water: Keep moist, and when the top half inch of soil appears dry, water again. Do not let the plant stand in water. Water less frequent in the winter months.
